The venue for the IPL 2025 final has become a topic of considerable debate. Initially, it was confirmed that the final would take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. However, following the suspension of the IPL due to tensions between India and Pakistan, the final's location remains uncertain. Former cricketer Sourav Ganguly has addressed this issue, stating whether the final will still be held at the previously designated Eden Gardens.
During his comments, Ganguly mentioned, 'We are making efforts. Discussions are ongoing with the BCCI. It is not easy to relocate the final from here.' The IPL 2025 has resumed following the India-Pakistan tensions.
Subsequently, a new schedule for the remaining matches was released. The BCCI has only confirmed the venues for the league matches, while the locations for the playoffs and final are yet to be determined.
The remaining league matches for IPL 2025 are set to take place in Bengaluru, Lucknow, Jaipur, Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai. This has led to questions regarding where the final match will ultimately be held.
When asked why Kolkata was not included in the venues for the remaining matches, Ganguly explained that all seven home games for KKR had already been played. Therefore, Kolkata was not listed; had there been more matches, Eden Gardens would certainly have been included.
